The SSP development team is pleased to announce the 1.1.0 GA release of the SSP Data Importer.
SSP Data Importer is a standalone application that consumes CSV-formatted files and writes their contents to SSP's "external" database tables. I.e. it acts as the final leg in the extract-transform-and-load (ETL) process typically used to populate SSP with student information system (SIS) data. The Importer can be deployed to your existing SSP application server and executed with cron or Windows Task Manager.
This is a minor maintenance release of the Importer. Notable changes:
1. Support for SSP 2.3.0 - 2.5.2
1. Support for external_* tables lacking primary keys (especially external_substitutable_course)
Binary downloads are in the SSP wiki. [1,2]
For installation instructions and the CSV file format specification please see the distribution's README. The 'Database Initialization' section of that document includes instructions for upgrading an existing Importer install.
